Marlborough District Libraries invite you to meet Trilby Johnson and Beverley Cross, inspirational in different ways:
‘William’s Journey’ – Beverley Cross
When Beverley was about 5 years old, she met a couple of elderly missionary ladies who had returned from the Mission Fields of India and China. Their stories inspired a 5 year old to a lifelong desire to become a nurse and serve on the Leprosy Mission fields of India. In 2000 she made her first trip to India where she visited a leprosy hospital in Northern India. 12 years later she celebrated a significant birthday by once again returning to India.
William’s Journey is the story of a woman of incredible faith, who kept alive a dream that she had nurtured for well over 50 years. (William is Beverley’s travel companion teddy bear created by Christchurch’s Ballantynes as symbol of the re-build required as a result of the disastrous earthquakes in 2012)
