101 Ways with Wool

A three day event from 21st to 23rd March 2019, 101 Ways with Wool is being run by Marlborough Rural Women NZ and the Wool101 Committee.
On the Thursday afternoon there will be workshops: learn to spin, felt, weave, knit and crochet all with 100% pure Wool. Friday and Saturday is a gala event, featuring live breeds of sheep, machine and blade shearing, wool handling and fleece demonstrations to companies manufacturing woollen products such as carpets and insulation. There will be displays of the school competition – art or science projects, an adult’s sculpture section and a fashion parade.
The Creative Fibre Guild will be demonstrating during that time, there will be sales tables of woollen articles, sales of baby singlets “buy one get one free”, peggy squares are being knitted or crocheted to form a huge blanket “see how the little blanket grows” and this will be then separated and knee rugs given to the elderly or to children.
Food, a bouncy castle and lots more will also be available.
