At Whatamango Recreation Reserve there is a nationally renown harakeke garden, the Renee Orchiston Collection. Each of the 50 different varieties of harakeke are different genetically, and are used in different ways by weavers. A three day event from 21st to 23rd March 2019, 101 Ways with Wool is being run by Marlborough Rural Women NZ and the Wool101 Committee. On the Thursday afternoon there will be workshops: learn to spin, felt, weave, knit and crochet all with 100% pure Wool.
